Shea Butter
Shea Butter:
Shea Butter has a history of having natural healing properties. Prior to 100% Pure African Shea Butter was introduced worldwide, it had many uses outside of being used for cosmetic purposes.
Shea butter was previously used by traditional healers to treat their patients and also in spiritual cleansing. It is also used in many African households in the preparation of dishes. The only type of shea butter used is refined shea butter because of its natural healing properties.
Today the popularity of shea butter has become very rampant in the cosmetics industry as an all-natural skin healer. The benefits are endless.
Refined Shea Butter has several benefits including:
It moisturizes & protects skin & scalp and hair that is dry or over-processed.
Shea Butter doesn't clog pores & block hair shaft.
Adds luster to skin & hair.
Absorbs quickly without leaving greasy residue like many man-made moisturizers.
Shea Butter penetrates deep into skin to help restore elasticity.
Benefits your skin by keeping it clear & smooth – evening out the tone.
Soothes some scalp & skin irritations adding needed moisture.
Revitalizes, softens & maintains skin moisture.
Naturally rich in vitamins A, E & F which are some essential vitamins needed for good skin balance.
Shopping for Shea Butter:
When shopping for shea butter ALWAYS opt for the refined shea butter because it is 100% pure. Fake shea butter is hard and has a strange greenish color, and is mixed with many artificial ingredients. It may also sometimes have a strange smell.
Types of Shea Butter:
Refined: Bleached but has some of the original natural ingredients.
Unrefined: Pure, no chemicals added. Straight from nature.
Processed: No natural components. Stripped of its natural pureness. This type is usually more expensive as well.
Shea Butter Hair Conditioner:
To revitalize your hair, mix a generous amount of unrefined shea butter and olive oil in your hands and massage on your scalp and pull throughout your hair. Wrap with a shower cap covered by a warm towel for 30 minutes. Remove the towel and shower cap then rinse lightly with cool water and style as usual.
