Au Natural Hair is oh so Fabulous!

Our natural hair is truly a blessing! We have so many options that it's no wonder we love to change our hair style many times month after month.

We can straighten it, braid it, twist it, dread it, wear twist outs or be naturally free! The list goes on and on with our curly natural hair.

Some may find it a curse and others see it as a blessing, but regardless - curly hair rocks! The amount of versatility is almost endless. Check out these style options below :)

WAVES: Wavy hair is fabulous because it is so versatile but yet simple to style. The way to style wavy hair is really simple since the hair works well with water.

Simply wash the hair and add a leave-in conditioner to reduce flyaways. Then while the hair is still wet, add a pomade or moisturizer for added hold. For this look avoid using gels as they make the hair look wet even after the hair is dry. It also makes the hair feel crunchy.

TWIST-OUT: The twist-out has become a very popular natural hairstyle for women with curly and coily natural hair. This style is easy to do but takes a bit of time.

First hair is washed and conditioned. Comb the hair and part the hair in small square sections or flat twist the hair vertically while hair is still damp. Once hair is dry, release each twist carefully. You can use a small amount of gel to your fingers as you release each twist to keep the frizzies at bay. Style the hair as desired.

For best results make sure your hair has been shaped by a professional stylist.

TWISTS: This simple yet funky style adds a sharp contrast to traditional curly hairstyles. These urban twists are a wonderful low maintenance style. To get this look section the hair in medium sized squares. Within each square divide the section in two and begin to twist the hair one over the other until you reach the ends. You may use a gel or some shea butter to add moisture and sheen to twists. These products also help in keeping the twists together without the frizz. Wear this style whenever or wherever. You can also pin the twists up into an updo for a more sophisticated look.

DREADLOCKS: Dreadlocks have become a style worn on all ethnicities. This style can be achieved by sectioning the hair into tiny squares and the hair is twisted, braided or palm-rolled. Over time each section begins to matte. To get mature dreads, this process will take between four months to a year - depending on your hair texture. You will also notice that your hair will grow much quicker with this method because the hair does not have to be trimmed.

To maintain shiny dreads it is best to use a clarifying shampoo and apple cider vinegar as a rinse. The rinse can be performed once every two-weeks or longer depending on the state of your dreads. The only time killer is re-twisting the roots to keep the locks looking neat. You can also do several updo styles. See a dreadlock specialist for various style options.

CURLY COILY AFRO: Many women and children are sporting this lovely natural style. It's so free and liberating! Whether it's a pony tail afro puff, pig tails or a free-spirited afro style, this natural style is as simple and elegant as it looks.

Shampoo your hair as usual. Add a leave-in conditioner like Infusium 23 (or Just for Me leave-in conditioner for kids) to alleviate the frizz. Squeeze and shake your head in the shower to release excess water. This is a simple wash and go curly do.

Add gel and a moisturizing spray while hair is still wet. Turn your head up-side-down and shake. Use your fingers to style. This is one of the easiest styles to wear when your on the go.

LONG CURLS: Curly long hair is always an attention getter. To attain this style shampoo and add a conditioner for softness. Dry the hair with a diffuser for added volume. Add mousse to keep the form of each curl. You can also use a curling iron to the curls on the surface for added dimension.

This curly sassy style can be worn in both evening and daytime. For added sophistication add bobby pins and twist the hair to add height on the top. You can also roll the bottom of the hair up for an elegant evening look.

FLAT TWISTS: These flat twists are easy to manage. Hair is two-strand flat twisted close to the scalp. A very sleek style that keeps those curly q's tamed and gives you a break from daily stying.

Simply add some gel and moisturizer to the hair. Part the hair in vertical lines from the front hairline to the back of the neck. Flat-twist the hair one at a time in each vertical section. This style should last a week or more depending on your maintenance routine.

Casual or sophisticated, this style is very versatile. A beautiful natural hairdo for any occasion.

BIG CURLS: Layered curls never lose their touch. Add some pizzaz to your curly hair with free-style curls.

This curly hairstyle is simple. Just shampoo hair and add a leave-in conditioner to keep curls uniform throughout. Dab the hair dry and then add mousse or gel to hold the curls.

Only add a small amount of product to avoid having stiff stickey hair.

A small amount of product will also keep your curls looking natural.

Shake your head for added volume - that's it!
