What is the look for this summer? Can any woman wear this look?
The look this summer is the "Bronze Beach Babe". This look is all about a
warm sexy glow, very natural, and it's a great look on everyone.
Start with fresh cleansed and moisturized skin, and don't forget the sunscreen.
Beautifully bronzed skin is very popular now. If you have naturally bronze
skin you have a great start. If you have paler skin, invest in a sunless
tanner or bronzer. NO TANNING! A great bronzer is one made by MAC called MATTE BRONZE.
To get glowing sexy skin this summer, apply a shade of Revlon’s
Skinlights Face Illuminator. Apply it to cheekbones, on brow bones, and
across the forehead.
To get a sexy flush apply a gel/stain blush to the apples of your cheeks. An amazing stain is one by TARTE in tickled peach, available on www.sephora.com. It's $26US but will last forever.
Apply a shimmery beige shadow across your eyelids, and a darker brown in the crease.
To finish off the look, sweep on a coat of mascara. (Maybelline Great Lash is
the best).
Apply a sheer shimmery bronze gloss to your lips. Try MAC's Lustreglass gloss in Sinnamon, or Beaux. Now you should be glowing, gorgeous, and ready for the summer.
What is a good product to use to get the most natural look possible?
If you want to even out your skin tone, and don't want your skin to look cakey, a good solution is to use a tinted moisturizer. MAC offers a great sheer tinted moisturizer. Have a MAC make-up artist assist you to find the perfect match for your skin.
How does one keep their skin clear?/fight pimples?
The single most important thing is to cherish your skin. Just think about it
as the "foundation" of beauty. It's so important to focus on solving your
skin problems, and not to cover them up with make-up. Clear skin means
you'll need little, or no foundation. Here's a checklist to get you headed
in the right direction.
- If you have blemished skin go to a dermatologist. It's very important to
have a dermatologist that can educate you about your skin and provide
possible solutions and medications.
- Try and determine your skin type so you are using the right products for
your skin. Combination skin is oily through the forehead, nose, and chin,
and dry or normal everywhere else. Oily skin is oily all over, dry skin is
prone to dry patches, and normal skin is, well, normal.
- I always recommend CETAPHIL cleanser for all skin types, it's fantastic, it's what Tyra Banks uses. It's gentle and doesn't strip the skin. (Available
at most drug stores).
- ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, wear sunscreen. Sunscreen will protect your skin
from blotchy spots, wrinkles, and skin cancer. Cosmetics that contain
sunscreen are useless, because it has to be applied at least every two
hours. NEUTROGENA has great sunscreens available in oil-free formulations, and they smell great. Don't use anything under 15spf (Available at most drug
stores).
- Never go to bed without washing your face first. The dirt and make-up will
harbor all sorts of breakouts.
- Do not touch your face,. Bacteria and friction causes blemishes. Resting
the phone on your chin, or rubbing your face with your hand are common
causes for breakouts.
- Try and keep your hair off of your face. Hair contains many oils that are
culprits for blemishes.
- Pay close attention to what you are using on your face, and whether or not
you are using products that may be causing problems. If your skin looks
great stick to your program.
- Exfoliate once a week using a gentle exfoliator. A good one is one made by
H2O. It's important to exfoliate because it removes dead skin which can clog
pores. Just remember not to scub hard or you will aggrivate skin and cause
more blemishes.
