Hello, from Puerto Rico!!

I am new at wearing my natural curls and still trying to get adjusted. I have chemically relaxed my hair for many years because that was the example of beauty that I received.

Now that I decided to go back to curls, I have noticed that it is very dry probably because of the chemicals. Plus, my hair is kind of short and difficult to shape.

In this picture I have my first $50 haircut. However I'm still not comfortable wearing my hair untied. So, before the picture, my hair was tied.
For the picture I let it loose and messed it up a bit. I happened to like how it turned out :-.)

I was wearing two hair products in this style:

1) Soma Hair Technology - RAGE OUT Styling Creme Texturizer
2) DOVE Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse.

PS. I don't think the weather and humidity out here are much help. I would like to receive as much help and curly knowledge as possible so that I can one day I can show, wearing my natural curls, that curly can also be beautiful and professional. I say professional because I am studying nutrition and you normally see a lot of straightened hair.
